Introducing "Drupal O"

Do you have a campaign or government office in need of a website? It seems like this should be easy. But it's not. Or, it wasn't before today. Allow me to introduce you to Drupal O.

O is a software package for making websites, tailored specifically for campaigns and public offices. It's easy to use and ready to go 'out of the box'. So if you're in a hurry, O gets you up and running in no time. But it's also 100% customizable if you want to take your time and create something one-of-a-kind.

If you know how to watch a YouTube video, you can manage this website. O makes it simple and safe to post multimedia content like video and maps.  No HTML experience required.

O also saves you a lot of time. It never makes you post the same thing twice. When you post a press release, with a few clicks you can make links, photos and video from the press release appear on your front page or related pages throughout your website. The same is true with events, news clips, issues, legislation, staff bios and generic pages.

O makes it fast and effortless to manage your social media too. If you tweet, O publishs your Twitter feed on the front page and automatically refreshes to show your most recent tweets.

If there are features you don't need, they can be turned off. Nobody will ever see them. That way your website is does what you need, no more, no less, and the interface is simple and easy to manage.

Out-of-the-box, O looks very similar to whitehouse.gov. That's where O gets its name, after the Obama White House. The White House design is just a starting point. WIthout all the Presidential imagery, it's a nice, clean, navigable, attractive site. Well suited for elected officials and campaigns. (Check out our demo sites: demo1 shows what whitehouse.gov would look like re-built with O, demo2 shows the same site without the White House imagery, demo2 could easily be a website for any political candidate or elected official.)

Last but not least, O is powered by Drupal, the same open source website software the White House uses.
